Robots are mainly used for palletising group packaging, be it shrink-wrapped groups or cartons with bottles and canisters. FANUC robots are most commonly used. The station usually consists of a pallet magazine, from which the robot retrieves empty pallets and inserts them into the palletising position. From a magazine with slip sheets, which the robot places between layers, and from a feed conveyor, from which the robot picks up the group packaging or individual containers (stackable canisters and buckets) and loads them onto the prepared pallet. Once the palletising process is complete, the pallet is moved to the next position via a roller conveyor.
Robotic manipulators are used for example in the feeding of lids, destacking of buckets, or fulfil further functions in plant automation.
Key features
- Flexible solution for palletising various products
- Space-saving solution
- Use of Fanuc's top robots
- All in one – pallet removal, insertion pads, palletising by a single system
Options
- Loading and unloading of pallet conveyors
- Automatic pallet unstacker
- Insertion device for pads by the same or an additional robot
Process Description
- Cartons, buckets, bags or other items arrive on one or more infeed conveyors to the palletiser. They are then aligned and prepared on the picking preparation table, or alternatively, all layers are formed.
- The robot picks up individual packages, groups of packages or entire layers and places them onto the pallet or half-pallet.
- The palletiser robot or helper robot can place the pads on the floor of the pallet or between layers.
- When the pallet is full, the forklift driver removes the pallet and replaces it with an empty one, or the pallet automatically leaves the position on the pallet conveyor (depending on the degree of automation).
