Single-head Rotary Capping Machine

Single-head rotary capping machine CAPLINE ROT 1

Single-head Rotary Capping Machine

Single-head capping machine CAPLINE ROT 1 is a rotary indexing capping machine designed for capping various container types (plastic, glass, and metal) with screw, press-on and pilfer proof caps. The performance of this machine is a maximum of 2,600 bottles/h.

Rotary capping machines are intended in particular for closing smaller containers and for closing containers with problematic closures (e.g. closures with a flat thread). The containers are conveyed from the conveyor belt onto a star-wheel indexing table and pushed under the capping station, where the screw cap is introduced into the capping head by means of a pick-and-place mechanism, thereby closing the container.

Process Description

  1. The containers are conveyed to the star wheel via a feed belt. The star wheel (indexing wheel) picks up the bottles and transports them into the capping area.
  2. The caps are transferred from the cap magazine via a belt elevator to the rotary orienter at the top of the capping machine. The oriented caps pass through the cap chute into the Pick and Place device.
  3. The cap chute is equipped with a sensor that detects the presence of caps. If the cap level in the chute is low, the sensor activates the orienter. The cap is transferred from the chute to the capping head using the Pick and Place device.
  4. The capping head places the cap on the bottleneck and tightens it with the required capping torque. The capped bottles leave the machine on the outfeed conveyor.
