The carton packing machine CARTONTECH is used to assemble American cartons, insert bottles, cans, bags or other items into these cartons, and to seal the top and bottom of the carton with adhesive tape or hot glue.
Cartesian-type cartoning machines consist of four machine parts:
- Automatic carton erector into which the blank stack is inserted; the machine separates the blanks, folds the carton shape and bends the bottom flaps. A series of cartons emerge from the erector, into which the containers (bottles and canisters) can be inserted.
- Collection table for grouping containers into a predefined packaging scheme
- Cartesian type insertion device for placing containers into cartons. Movement on the X and Y axes is achieved by servo motors. The containers are gripped either by suction cups or by a mechanical gripper.
- Carton sealer which seals the top and bottom flaps with self-adhesive tape after loading the cartons.

Process Description
- Bottles, cans or pouches are fed into the machine on the infeed conveyor. Then, the pre-defined group of items is formed by a special unit (forming table).
- The unfolded boxes are removed from the box magazine by suction cups, opened, the bottom flaps are automatically folded and sealed with adhesive tape, and the box is ready to receive the products.
- A Cartesian or robot-controlled manipulator places the product group into the box. After this, the top flaps are automatically folded and taped, and the box leaves the machine on the outfeed conveyor.
